Big Ten football players' pick to win their conference: Iowa
Mike Hlas Aug. 15, 2010 12:18 pm
ESPN The Magazine surveyed Big Ten football players this summer. It didn't say how many, but ...
Iowa got 38.1 percent of the vote as the pick to win the league title. Ohio State got 34.5 percent, and Wisconsin was third at 14.3 percent. It is not true that Minnesota got minus-7 percent.
But Hawkeyes Coach Kirk Ferentz apparently isn't fully on the radar of those non-Hawkeyes who voted. Jim Tressel of Ohio State and Joe Paterno of Penn State tied at 37.5 percent when asked to name the league's best coach. Ferentz will survive this slight, I'm sure.
The players said Adrian Clayborn of Iowa was the players' pick for the top player. Not the top defensive player, but the top player overall. OSU quarterback Terrelle Pryor was second, Jones third.
