Some hungry rodents were unsuccessful in their attempts to disrupt the start of the school year at Iowa City's West High School.
Principal Jerry Arganbright says the animals, possibly squirrels, chewed through a fiber optic line on the west side of campus. The pesky critters manged to knock out phone and internet service yesterday.
Tech crews for the district were able to restore both after working into the evening.
Despite rumors that a phone or internet outage would delay the start of school, Arganbright says, ” We have class tomorrow.”
