Public should avoid sewer overflow along C St. SW bike trail

There has been a sanitary sewer overflow at 5405 Ely Rd SW. Approximately 2,000 gallons of raw sewage flowed from a manhole across the parking lot and ended in the small unnamed creek which leads to the Cedar River.
All visible sewage was vacuumed and the area was rinsed with chlorinated water however as a precaution the public should avoid the creek between Tait Cummins Park and Highway 30 for at least one week.
