Real estate needs a ceiling on taxes
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Aug. 10, in the mail, I received my new tax assessment bill for this year.
I'm wondering, as at some future time that I may want to sell my property, will the prospective buyers deem my property taxes too high and not want my property? Not that this is any concern of the so-called assessor's.
And if I think this new tax increase is too much and refuse to pay it, in the twinkling of an eye, my property will no longer be mine.
Real estate should have a ceiling at how much it can be taxed. You cannot continue to increase taxes every year without damaging the value and salability, or are we too overeducated to know that?
