Football Preview: Marion returns experience at skill positions

Marion finished lsat season undefeated at 9-0 and romped past West Delaware in a Class 3A substate game. The Indians' outstanding season came to an end with a first-round loss to Decorah.This Marion team will have experience at the skill positions offensively but all five starters up front will be new. They also will be physically big, with a pair of 300-pounders. Four sophomores are expected to be in the starting lineup either offensively or defensively.Marion begins its season at home against Mount Vernon on Friday night at Thomas Park. It is in District 5 this season with Anamosa, Center Point-Urbana, DeWitt Central, Western Dubuque, Maquoketa, Vinton-Shellsburg and LaPorte City Union.
Returning starters: LB Tyler Fisher, S Dusty Albaugh, DT Austin Hardman, DT Michael Carter, FB-LB Jack McDonald, LB Zach Neilsen, K Curran Lippsett.
