Human remains found in Mahaska County field

Authorities say a farmer has found what appears to be human remains in a field in southern Iowa.
Courtney Greene of the Iowa Department of Public Safety says Monday the farmer found skeletal remains, including a skull and other bones, near Fremont in Mahaska County.
The remains, which were discovered on Saturday, have been taken to the state medical examiner's office in Ankeny for an autopsy.
Greene says investigators don't suspect foul because of the area and the nature of circumstances where the remains were found.
