People’s efforts appreciated for event

On behalf of Linn County Veterans Affairs, Homeless Veteran Outreach Program and the Linn County Continuum of Care, we recognize the community for supporting the Fifth Annual Five Seasons Stand Down. Nearly 60 service organizations helped connect homeless or near homeless veterans and non-veterans to services that assist them in transitioning to community living.
About 200 individuals were assisted this year. A special thanks goes to David Brandstetter, associate professor of the Kirkwood Graphic Communication Technology Department. His students developed our logo so we have a permanent identification for Stand Downs.
Finally, we acknowledge the extraordinary effort by Jack Roeder and Kernels staff preparing Veterans Memorial Stadium for the Stand Down.
