Like their very personalized warm-up song says, The Orioles are "verified players, it don't matter what the day is"..."uhoh-uhoh you know who we be...Spring V to the I ll to the E !"
The Springville Orioles repeat as Tri Rivers Conference Champions in 2010. The conference has some strong teams this year, and it's a 5 way fight for 2nd with Alburnett, Ed-Co, Maq Valley, Monticello and Starmont all heading into the night at 5-3. After winning hard fought battles (and keeping their fans on the edge of the bleachers) against all these teams, the Orioles have established themselves as the undisputed Conference Champions.Team Oriole is a well balanced group, with each player contributing in many areas, and they lead the conference in kills with 678 on the season. Katie Wyman leads the Orioles in kills, with 168 going into the final conference game. Hannah Loehr & Hope Matus are right behind her, with 143 & 112 respectively. Sydney Vaughn and Gentry Stewart are at the top of the serving list, with a 9.41 & 9.27 efficiency rating. Brittany Oxley is the assist leader at 366. Alysha Dirks & Hannah Loehr are the Orioles blocking leaders with 28 & 25 solo blocks respectively and 29 & 31 block assists. Jamie Donaldson leads the team in digs with 189, followed by Katie Wyman and CJ Fitzgerald each with over 100.Springville plays "Senior Recognition Night" hosts to East Buchanan tonight, (Seniors Gentry Stewart, Hannah Loehr, Hope Matus, Katie Wyman & Sydney Vaughn will be recognized prior to the start of the varsity game) and if the ball falls right, the orioles will end the regular season undefeated in conference play. The Tri Rivers Conference end of season Tournament will be played at Cascade on Saturday October 16th, and will host Central City in second round Regional Play on Wednesday the 20th at 7:00 pm[gallery orderby="rand"]
