Tuesday video -- Kirk Ferentz
Marc Morehouse
Oct. 12, 2010 3:06 pm
Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz makes an opening statement and gets a Denard Robinson question right off the bat.
Here, Ferentz talks about the scout team QB this week. He doesn't name him, but it's Nick Kuchel, a quick walk-on senior receiver from Kingsley, Iowa. He's also asked about Antwaan Randle-El comparisons, attacking Robinson and how Michigan State "contained" Robinson.
This one starts with a question about Michigan receivers and moves to senior middle linebacker Jeff Tarpinian, who has a neck stinger and is questionable for Saturday's game. Ferentz also is asked about running back here. It's the Adam Robinson show.
This segment starts with a question about Michigan's 3-3-5 defense, a unique look in the Big Ten. Later with players, OL Julian Vandervelde called it "controlled chaos." Ferentz is asked about Vandervelde here. ESPN had a College GameDay crew in to do a story on the senior OL, who sings, majors in religious studies and English and has a minor in Japanese. Also, Michigan mystique here.
Iowa doesn't win in the Big House very much. Ferentz is asked here about the Hawkeyes' 2002 victory at Michigan Stadium, when Iowa beat up the Wolverines, 34-9. Iowa will use some crowd noise recordings in practice this week.
Ferentz is asked about Iowa's kicking situation here. He said it's OK, basically. Senior Daniel Murray was made available to the media. He said he's OK. He's also asked about Iowa's D-line against Denard. And finally, there's a question about Troy Johnson, a fifth-year senior LB who might get his third career start if Jeff Tarpinian isn't able to go at Michigan.
Here, Ferentz is asked if Iowa will consider any defensive personnel changes against Michigan and Denard Robinson. The answer was probably not.
