Christian French to visit Iowa next weekend

Looks like it's down to five for Cedar Rapids Kennedy's Christian French. Or less.The senior linebacker-safety-tight end-wide receiver said Thursday night his next official football recruiting visit is next weekend to Iowa. He has made official trips to Oregon and Notre Dame and an unofficial visit to Missouri.He also could make an official visit to Nebraska, he said. A trip to Texas A&M - the sixth school he said earlier this month he was interested in – is out.“I just feel like I want to commit early, save the time, don't want to waste anybody's time. So my next trip is the 23rd to Iowa,” he said.French has said all along he wants to make a final decision by the end of October.“It definitely puts pressure on you (to commit early) because you don't want to lose a spot or an opportunity,” he said. ”You definitely want to take your time, but you can see by (guys) committing early, it also takes a lot of pressure off their heads.”French missed his second game in a row Thursday night with a right elbow injury. He had a bad cut that got infection, and he also had a burst bursa sac.
