Miller-Meeks needs to rethink health care

The overriding issue that concerns me about Mariannette Miller-Meeks is her stand on health care, which she bases on her OWN health.
She should know what “catastrophic” really means as a medical doctor, when it comes to disorders not considered “catastrophic.”
I'm a perfect example of this, having been hit with autoimmune disorders over which I had no control. Without health insurance to help pay for special care and medications, we would be out on the streets.
Same with my husband. During a routine eye exam, it was discovered that he had a hole in the macula of his left eye. Without immediate sophisticated surgery, he would have lost vision in that eye.
I doubt very much that my issues or Al's macular hole would be classified as “catastrophic” as a person can live with constant pain, or go blind, but still live. Maybe not the way one would wish to.
This idea of hers is certainly without any empathy or concern for people in such situations. She needs to rethink her stance and realize that if she's healthy today, she may not always be so.
Miller-Meeks is running for an elected office that requires her to consider other people's needs, and a stance not based on her own good health.
