Obama has accomplished much

We keep hearing that Democrats aren't energized, that they don't care about the coming elections as much as the Republicans or Tea Partiers. Not so.
We are extremely pleased with the accomplishments of the Obama administration. They reauthorized and extended the Children's Health Insurance Program. They made college loans more directly accessible to students. They passed the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, a large step toward guaranteeing women equal pay for equal work.
Obama's economic policies have kept us from falling into a depression. The economic stimulus bill saved many jobs and created others. Obama and the Democrats passed a bill regulating Wall Street.
A comprehensive health care bill, the dream of generations, has passed in a form that will force the insurance industry not to leave uncovered, or drop, those people who need it most; eventually it will help to contain the upward spiral of health care costs.
President Obama has brought about a resurgence of respect for the United States around the world, partly because he portrays us as a member of the family of nations. He has restarted peace negotiations between Israel and Palestine. He has spoken out against torture and for human rights.
We especially admire President Obama, the moral leader, as he gives speeches on racism and the need for immigration reform. Last spring, Mark Halperin said in Time magazine: “By Election Day 2010, Obama will have soundly achieved many of his chief campaign promises while running a highly competent, scandal-free government.”
We stand with President Obama.
