Iowa State got plastered by Utah two weeks earlier, got smashed at Oklahoma a week later. The Cyclones gave up a total of 120 points in those two games.
So they went to Austin Saturday and beat Texas for the first time ever, 28-21, and never trailed. How can you not admire that?
Texas' athletics budget is roughly 2 1/2 times that of Iowa State's. The U. of Texas will have its own cable TV network soon enough, no doubt. It names the tune in the Big 12, and everybody else dances along.
But this year? Cyclones 28, Longhorns 21.
