The Walkthrough -- Clayborn has a bad wheel
Marc Morehouse
Oct. 30, 2010 12:49 pm
-- MLB Jeff Tarpinian is dressed, but I'm told he's likely not going to play.
Also, remember when DE Adrian Clayborn limped off the field last week? That's still a factor, I've been told.
-- I won't be here for team. Gotta go do TV. I'm trying to enlist Scott to let you know what's going on at LB.
-- CB Jordan Bernstine (knee) is dressed. Don't know if he'll play. He'd help special teams, I think.
-- Outback and Capital One Bowls in Kinnick today. (I'm starting a campaign to rename the Capital One the Florida Citrus Bowl. Capital One isn't paying me a dime.)
-- Judging by his tweet last night, MSU CB Chris L. Rucker is here and he's playing. Of course, he's fresh off an eight-day stay in the Ingham County Jail. He was released Thursday after being arrested for reckless driving, pleading down from OWI. It was considered a parole violation for an assault conviction last November.
-- MSU WR/punt returner Keshawn Martin is a game-time decision. He leads the Big Ten with 16.0 yards a punt return.
-- Michigan State hasn't won here since 1989. That's when I graduated from college.
-- The strange adventures of Daniel Murray continue.
He kicked off once last week. He's out there and dressed for the game today. I don't see a change coming in kicker. Mike Meyer has done nothing to lose the job.
-- Iowa QBs are out.
Iowa QB Ricky Stanzi is wearing white wristbands and black socks.
Otherwise, it is a go.
DC Norm Parker is going to be in the pressbox. I haven't seen him. I don't think he's coaching. He's still in rehab at Mercy in CR.
Norm will not be talking to the media today. I've been told that ABC's Matt Millen is going to duck in and say hi in whatever box Norm is in here (coaches, I assume). No cameras, though.
-- It's a beautiful day.
Here's what The Weather Channel says:
The Weather Channel Offers its Gametime Weather Index for Oct. 30-31
The Weather Channel® (TWC) releases its exclusive weather impact report, the Gametime Weather Index for this weekend's NFL and NCAA football games. TWC's Gametime Weather Index will be featured on-air and online, complete with new interactive radar maps on weather.com. Each place mark on the map indicates where this week's select NFL and NCAA matchups will be located and includes the latest forecast and weather factors for each game. Additional forecasts for games that were not highlighted below can also be found online.
The index is based on forecast conditions for the game on the field and the weather's potential to affect game play. Using a scale from 1 to 10, the index assigns a 10 for typically “perfect” weather and a 1 for awful weather -- think 38 degrees, rain and high winds.
