Gazette lost track of Branstad’s legacy

I am wondering if your editorial board is composed of people 30 years old and younger, or perhaps Minnesotans. I wasn't surprised, however, that you endorsed Terry Branstad for governor. You are definitely predictable.
Does anyone over 30 years of age remember how terrible things were in Iowa in the 1980s during Branstad's rule? Many small-town main streets have never recovered from that era of recession. Iowa's unemployment rate was higher than the national rate (the opposite of what is true now).
My husband was permanently laid off from his job. My hours were cut drastically. For the only time in my life, I received no raise and it happened three years in a row.
There were multiple farmers who declared bankruptcy.
I pray that no voters are influenced by your endorsement. I would like my children and grandchildren to be able to stay in Iowa. I hope people who love this state as much as I do will vote for Gov. Culver.
