Minor voting issues affect voters in Linn County

Linn County Auditor Joel Miller says the Squaw Creek polling location in Marion ran out of voter roster forms and mistakenly told voters they couldn't vote for a short time today, but the issue has since been resolved.
Voters are being allowed to vote at that location now, and more forms are on the way. That was just one of a few minor problems that voters have encountered in Linn County today.
Earlier, Miller said a few of the counties 86 voting machines malfunctioned, as predicted.
Miller said ballots had been rejected by some machines, including one at Taylor Elementary School in Cedar Rapids, and were going to be replaced. He said the memory card in the machine will remain the same, so no votes will need to be recounted.
“We've had three or four, and we may have three or four more,” Miller said. “We typically have some, and that's why we have spares.”
He says the county has spare machines, and can replace malfunctioning ones.
