Campaign dollars better utilized elsewhere

The millions of dollars that flowed freely into the November election could be better spent on the numerous projects that our country needs to repair and replace our aged infrastructures. Think of our own state, i.e., the replacement of the Delhi dam, a new U.S. Cellular Center, restoration of the Czech and Slovak Museum, as well as non-profit agencies that need help.
Political campaigns must be reduced to no more than six months. Mega donations to either party should be reduced and donors identified. Honest debate in place of sound bites on television are vital to the democratic process. Stop the negative and false labeling and demand the truth.
Elect officials with enough spine to bring about positive results.
