RoughRiders head west for the weekend

Nov. 11, 2010 4:44 pm
It's bus time again this weekend for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. The Riders play Friday night at Fargo and Saturday night at Sioux City, continuing a six-game road trip and a stretch of eight of nine away from the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
"Like we always say, we just want to play hockey," said Riders Coach Mark Carlson. "That's really the approach we've taken for 12 years here. Just get us to the rink, and let's go play."
Cedar Rapids split a pair of games last weekend, beating Indiana and losing to Des Moines. The Riders scored nine goals, with eight different players recording them. Only Jayson Megna had more than one. Defenseman Nolan Zajac also scored for the first time in his two-year USHL career.
Cedar Rapids is 7-2-0 for 14 points, first in the United States Hockey League's East Division.
Fargo is 5-7-2 for 12 points. Sioux City is 9-4-0 with 18 points, first place in the USHL's West Division.
