The Fayette County Sheriff's office charged Starmont junior Megghan Jolyn Recker, 16, with false reports on Monday following a bomb threat at the school Nov. 23.
School officials found a note in the restroom that indicated an explosive device was placed in the high school library and was to detonate at 12:00 p.m. The school was evacuated and a search was completed. After nothing was found, an investigation was conducted.
Recker was referred to Juvenile Court Services and will make an appearance at a later date. She was released to her parents until then.
The case will remain under investigation and other students could be charged at a later date.
