One hurt in crash near Springville

One driver was injured in a tw0-vehicle crash near Springville Tuesday night.
According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, a pickup driven by Steven Lewis Kerns, 59, of Clearfield, pulling a livestock trailer loaded with hogs, was northbound on Highway 151 just east of Springville Road just after 5 p.m. Tuesday when Kerns attempted to make a left turn through a median turn-around. The pickup and another car, driven by William Michael Curtis, 48, of Anamosa, which was also northbound in the inside lane of Highway 151, collided.
Curtis was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids for treatment. His injuries aren't believed to be life-threatening, officials said. Kerns declined medical treatment.
Kerns was charged with turning from an improper lane. The hogs weren't injured in the crash.
