Police investigating Cedar Rapids woman's gunshot death
UPDATE: Police have opened a death investigation after a woman in her 30s was found dead Tuesday in northwest Cedar Rapids.
Officers were called around 5:15 p.m. to a report of a person down inside an apartment at 215 Shelley Ln. NW. The woman was found dead and had a gunshot wound, police said.
Police conducted interviews at the apartment building into the evening.
“At this time, we don't suspect any foul play,” Lt. Kenneth Washburn said.
Shelley Lane is a side street off Johnson Avenue NW west of Edgewood Road NW.
No other details were immediately available.
Police are investigating a death at a northwest Cedar Rapids home.
