Ferentz accountable for Iowa players’ problems

Kirk, you're fired.
You're right, it's not a popular concept. It was Derrell Johnson-Koulianos (DJK) who allegedly established a cottage industry on campus. Why should Coach Kirk Ferentz be held accountable?
DJK is dead to me. I will let time and the NFL embrace this poor, distracted soul, who skated on a full-ride scholarship when 90 percent of his fan base could not afford a college education.
Ferentz is accountable. This is not the first of his players to go awry of the law. In Ferentz's tenure as football coach, nearly 20 of his players were perp-walked before rolling television cameras.
Hawkeye football has a discipline problem. It shows on the field in poor play execution. It really shows off the playing field in the conduct of some of their student athletes. And these problems exist because the person in charge is not doing enough to prevent them.
It is time to part company with Ferentz. It's the right thing to do.
