C.R. Council needs to take care of its citizens
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 13, 2010 2:32 pm
Aren't we the greedy ones? As to the flood walls, the City Council is saving a ghost town while the west side residents and Czech Village drown. Where do you think all that water will go with one flood wall on the east side? What is in downtown Cedar Rapids? Absolutely nothing.
What's the deal about Little Bohemia? It never was a part of Czech Village. Never will be.
After spending millions on the U.S. Cellular Center, why do we need an amphitheater? Cedar Rapids isn't sport minded enough or doesn't care enough for the arts to have new entertainment centers. Besides, in this economy, who can afford to go to these shindigs?
Take care of your citizens instead of spending money you don't have.
