East Post Road needs traffic controls
N/A

I strongly disagree with Robert Thorpe (Dec. 7 letter) concerning the traffic control implemented during construction of the East Post Road bridge.
Before the stop signs on East Post Road at Cottage Grove Avenue, the traffic on East Post tended to travel at probably a higher than posted speed. It was often difficult or unsafe to pull on to East Post Road at Cottage Grove. At certain times of the day it was very difficult to enter Cottage Grove Avenue from 34th Street SE.
During early morning, there is traffic prompted by two schools in the area plus the regular commute of workers - all happening again at the end of the school day and after 5 p.m. Even with the stop signs at East Post and Cottage Grove, many people did not come to a complete stop.
Roll-throughs seemed very common by those people who do not seem to have the same number of hours in their day as most of us do. If each driver would realize that it is not only the law to obey these signs but also extend a degree of respect to other drivers, we could share the roads with much less stress.
