Cole Battles the Flu, Helps Hawks to Win Over La. Tech

IOWA CITY - Matt Gatens and Bryce Cartwright were the standout players from Tuesday night's 77-58 win over La. Tech but Jarryd Cole was the unsung hero.
Cole notched a double double, 10 points and 12 rebounds despite battling flu-like symptoms all day.
Jarryd had to have an I-V around noon on Tuesday just to see if he could keep any food down. He ended up eating a few bites of soup, his only meal in a day and a half.
The Senior helped lead the Hawkeyes to the win in their final non-conference game.
Iowa opens up Big 10 play next Wed. against #21 Illinois.
