Missouri crash kills Marion woman, seriously injures man

A Marion woman died and a man was seriously injured after a crash in Missouri.

The crash happened Monday afternoon on Interstate 35 near Bethany, Mo., about two hours south of Des Moines.

The Missouri State Patrol says 67-year-old Frank Vanourney of Marion lost control of his pickup on the icy interstate.

He crossed the median and an oncoming vehicle hit him.

Vanourney is in the hospital and is listed in serious condition.

His passenger, 65-year-old Joanne Vanourney, was pronounced dead at the scene.
