Career night from O’Rear carries UNI past Salukis

CEDAR FALLS (AP) - Kwadzoe Ahelegbe scored 21 points and Lucas O'Rear added 18 points and 10 rebounds as Northern Iowa defeated Southern Illinois 72-52 on Saturday night.
The Panthers (13-6, 4-3 Missouri Valley) shot 58.5 percent (24 of 41) from the floor in avenging a loss to the Salukis on New Year's Day.
Carlton Fay scored 19 points and Mamadou Seck 12 for Southern Illinois (9-9, 3-4), which shot 35.6 percent (16 of 45) and was outscored 24-8 in the paint.
