Alliant restores power for around 4,000 in Linn County
UPDATE: Power was restored just before 2 p.m. to about 4,000 Alliant Energy customers who were in the dark for about 50 minutes.
Alliant spokesman Scott Drzycimski said crews found a damaged transformer outside of a business along Sixth Street SW. They weren't sure how it was damaged, but identified it as the cause of the power outage.
Residents and businesses east of Sixth Street SW, from 33rd Avenue SW to Czech Village, were impacted, he said.UP
Almost 4,000 people are without power in Linn County.
