Residents invited to meet new city manager

CEDAR RAPIDS - The city is holding three open houses next week to give residents the opportunity to meet Jeff Pomeranz, who has served as Cedar Rapids' city manager since September.
The events are all planned for 6 to 7:30 p.m.
They will be held Tuesday at Kennedy High School, 4545 Wenig Rd. NE; Wednesday at Washington High School, 2205 Forest Dr. SE; and Thursday at Jefferson High School, 1243 20th St. SW.
Refreshments will be served at 6 p.m. each night, and Pomeranz will speak at 6:30 p.m. about his previous experience, his current role and the status of major city projects. An open questionand-answer session will follow until 7:30 p.m.
Pomeranz was city manager of West Des Moines before coming to Cedar Rapids.
