Many education officials are making too much

The education-industrial complex is in full battle mode following the passage of House Bill 45. Their rallying cry is “for the children!” If they were honest, their cry would be “for me!”
The administrators at the University of Iowa and the Grant Wood Area Education Agency are making hundreds of thousands of dollars, while our grandchildren are bringing Kleenexes and paper to school and we try to figure out how to pay property tax increases on our retirement income.
There are 15 administrators at the Grant Wood AEA who make more than $100,000 per year. Just what is it these people do for my grandchildren? The people who need our support are the classroom teachers.
The University of Iowa continues the rallying cry, “for the children!” Yet, we see the list of $100,000-plus salaries in the newspaper. Iowa college graduates - including our grandchildren - have some of the highest debt upon graduating from college of any state. When will it be enough?
The amendment limiting college tuition increases passed 100 to 0. It surprised me the liberal tax-and-spend legislators from Johnson County voted for it. Now get serious about the K-12 overspending and mismanagement - “for the children!”
