U.S. should remember, honor American Indians
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Feb. 3, 2011 8:04 am
The United Nations recently implemented an International Day of Remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust.
If we are going to have any kind of National Day of Remembrance in the United States, it should be for the atrocities that we Americans perpetrated against American Indians. The truth is that Americans still need to make amends to American Indians, and a National Day of Remembrance would be a great way to do so.
