Iowa’s gun laws work, don’t need changes

Second Amendment rights enthusiasts should take note of Egypt's peaceful change of government. Just imagine the outcome if Egyptians were armed to the teeth. There would be a major bloodbath with a shootout between opposing parties. Who would feel safe knowing most of the demonstrators were packing heat? It would be like standing in a circular firing squad.
Iowa's attempt to loosen gun laws is based more on Glenn Beck paranoia than common sense. Allowing carry of weapons, concealed or not, in public makes us less rather than more safe. It's more likely that “defenders” would shoot the wrong person in case of gun assault. A person carrying a gun at Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' shooting admitted he almost shot an innocent bystander.
I've owned guns in Iowa for 62 years and have not felt our gun laws restrictive. So why fix what is not broken?
