All-star basketball games planned

Got this e-mail from Jamie Johnson of Elite Sports USA and the Iowa Barnstormers AAU basketball team. Boys/girls all-star games featuring players from Eastern Iowa is planned for April 1 at Linn-Mar High School.

Here is the e-mail in its entirety. As soon as rosters are set, we'll let you know.

I just wanted to let you know about an exciting new event we have planned here in the corridor.  On April 1, 2011, we will host the inaugural Eastern Iowa All-Star basketball game at Linn-Mar High School in Marion.  The event will be a girls/boys double-header with the girls game at 6pm and the boys at 7:30pm.  We already have commitments from most of the top senior girls and boys from across the area.

This is the first time we have done this event and think it was badly needed.  It will be a great event to showcase the area's top players on the court at the same time. We expect a good crowd and hope media outlets like yourself will provide coverage of the event.

We are printing up t-shirts and will also have a simple program and are seeking a few sponsors.  We can place your logo/website address on the shirts and on the programs, so if interested let me know.
