More to judges story than reported

I see that the news of Gov. Terry Branstad making his appointments to the Iowa Supreme Court was buried on page 6 of the Feb. 24 Gazette.
Nowhere in the article was acknowledgment that all three men are registered Republicans, nor mention that one of the men donated $7,500 to Branstad's campaign.
Also, the fact that Iowa is now one of only three states without a female justice on the court was not stated.
Could it be The Gazette is feeling a bit sheepish?
