Customer service is a phrase often taken for granted until it's absent. Please know it's alive and well at the Cedar Rapids Public Library at Westdale Mall.
During the last year, I have used the library's computer center to check e-mail on an almost daily basis. Occasionally, books are checked out and returned. The staff creates a welcoming spirit. They intentionally reach out to assist library users, asking if we need help finding a book or information on the computer.
It's refreshing to observe staff/patron interactions - they are what civility and respect are all about. With staff like these, our new library will be in good hands.
