Update transportation needs, add train system
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Mar. 16, 2011 10:54 am
Our country should develop a modern passenger train system to help accommodate our nation's growing population with their transportation needs.
Airports and automobile highways are not a complete answer for our country's citizen transportation needs. We do not want to keep making our highways wider and our airports more crowded.
Our country needs another mode of travel, a train system, where it is updated to a modern style, which is made of a concrete road base with concrete rail ties and welded iron tracks. This would make a very smooth ride for the passengers and also generate a more efficient railroad system.
Our country should start spending more money to develop a modern train system, than add more costly lanes onto our already overcrowded highways and other costs for larger airports.
If we do not start getting trains back in motion, our highways will get to a point where they are terribly bottle necked with long delays on our public roads.
