We should recognize and thank God

We have lost much reason to be proud. Our economy isn't as strong as it used to be. Our armed services are not as valiant as they used to be. Our school systems are not ranking as high as they used to be. What have we to be proud about? Tolerance of that which the Bible says is sin? It certainly isn't pride about our national righteousness.
We're in trouble. And even though there is a plus factor for our country - that is, charitableness and we haven't gone anti-Semitic - I don't know how much longer either one of those will keep us afloat with God's long-suffering.
I believe this country has excelled with the blessing of God. He is the one that should be recognized and thanked. His moral position at one time was a guideline for the American people. His words were believed and revered. People realized they had a need for God and prayer was commonplace. Sunday school and church were active parts of the American life.
What has happened? Man gets self-sufficient and leaves God out.
