University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics could end this fiscal year as one of the best financially in the past six years, hospital officials told state regents today.
The hospital's operating margin is running at about 6 percent so far this year, Chief Financial Officer Ken Fisher said today during the state Board of Regents meeting in Ames. It's expected that income will be $65 million or greater by the end of the fiscal year on June 30, Fisher said, which would mean a greater than 6 percent operating margin to end the year.
“That's probably the second-best year of the last six years,” he said.
