Metro High School’s reputation misleading
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Apr. 2, 2011 10:21 am
Metro High School has often held a bad reputation, but I want to change that. I've been to many schools, including many conventional schools in Cedar Rapids, and I can honestly say that only Metro has treated me with respect, and showed me that they care about my education.
The staff at Metro makes it a priority to know the students and their families! The staff makes sure that school is a safe learning environment for everyone. The teachers make me feel like I belong! I can't say that about any other school that I have been to.
Another reason why Metro's not like what people think it is: the staff support and problem-solving with students. All schools, including Metro, have problems, but I feel that Metro gives me a place to belong, and a good education, and that's all I ask for.
The people that attend Metro are not bad; we just didn't feel like we fit in at the conventional schools in Cedar Rapids.
I love Metro and I hate how people talk badly about it, especially when they really know nothing about us!
