This year's Clothesline Project, originally scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today on the University of Iowa Pentacrest, has been canceled due to rain.
The event will not be rescheduled, Rape Victim Advocacy Program Education Coordinator Kristin Dawson said.
A localized effort of the national Clothesline Project, the Iowa City campaign is organized by the Rape Victim Advocacy Program each April as a part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
The project showcases around 350 T-shirts decorated by sexual assault and domestic violence survivors or by family and friends of victims. The main goal of the campaign is to educate citizens about the prevalence of gendered violence within the community.
