UPDATE: One person was hurt when a semi-trailer truck and a car collided Thursday morning on Highway 30.
Jesse A. Stone, 61, of Guyman, Okla., was eastbound in the semi around 1:20 a.m. and attempted to turn around when his rig was struck by an eastbound car near Knapp Road, according to the Linn County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said Stone turned left in front of the car, driven by Michael A. Powers, 47, of Bennett.
Powers was taken by ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. Stone was not hurt.
The car hit the semi's fuel tank, causing it to rupture. A Linn County hazardous materials team was called in to clean up the spilled fuel. Both eastbound lanes of Highway 30 were blocked.
Both driver's were wearing seat belts, authorities said. An investigation was continuing.
