Loebsack works for economic balance
The Gazette Opinion Staff

One reason I was so glad that Congressman Dave Loebsack was re-elected last time around is that he favors old-fashioned economic solutions which are tried and true.
While the Republican Party continues to push the failed policies of tax cuts for the rich and an ever-increasing wealth accumulation at the top, Loebsack has continued to work hard for the poor and middle class. He is always pushing for job creation. In 2009, he brought $11 million in job creation to Eastern Iowa. But since the Republicans took back the House in 2010, they have yet to create one jobs bill.
Now President Obama has announced a sensible budget plan that at one shot maintains safety net programs while lowering the debt run up from the Bush and Reagan presidencies. It is good to know that our congressman and the president will be working in sync.
We will need to keep Loebsack representing the Second District so he can help restore the balance that made the American economy the envy of the world.
