Former DJK roommate reaches plea agreement

IOWA CITY - The roommate of former University of Iowa football player Derrell Johnson-Koulianos has plead guilty to a felony.
Brady C. Johnson, 21, pleaded guilty to a controlled substance violation and permitting use of a controlled substance during a court appearance this morning.
In exchange, Johnson County prosecutors dropped charges of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a prescription drug.
Police allegedly discovered marijuana, cocaine, prescription drugs and a large quantity of money while executing a search warrant on Dec. 7 at the apartment where Johnson and Johnson-Koulianos lived.
The controlled substance violation is a class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
Johnson is scheduled to be sentenced on June 10, 2011.
