A motorcyclist was taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons after he wiped out on the south edge of Cedar Rapids this morning.
The man driving the motorcycle was eastbound on Wright Brothers Boulevard SW and was turning south onto Highway 965 when he hit loose gravel and lost control of the bike, authorities said. No other vehicles were involved.
An Iowa State Patrol trooper on the scene said the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, but was taken by ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital to be checked.
