At the end of last year Hawkeye fans knew that we could be losing Brett Greenwood, Tyler Sash and Shaun Prater from the Iowa secondary. Greenwood graduated and Sash decided to try the NFL, but one Hawkeye remained: Shaun Prater. The First Team All-Big Ten Defensive Back and I chatted recently about the decision to stay, his best experience as a Hawkeye and his expectations for 2011.
HB:What was your biggest factor/influence in becoming a Hawkeye?
SP:Biggest deciding factor for me was the great fans, Hawkeye Nation is always there to support their athletes.
HB:Most memorable play/game/memory of being a Hawkeye so far?
SP:Watching Tyler Sash pitch Micah Hyde the ball & running & screaming 60 plus yards behind Micah as he scored a touchdown.
HB: Toughest WR to you've had to cover?
SP:Marvin McNutt is my main competition and he's always a challenge everyday in practice. No one matches up to him.
HB: When thinking about the Draft, what did people tell you as far as your projections and what made you stay?
SP: Everyone had their say so on where I was going to go, but I wasn't satisfied with leaving early, my best option was remaining in college.

HB: Are you excited to watch the Draft and see where other Hawkeyes will go?
SP: Watching the Draft is always so exciting & I am proud to see we have so much talent & many Hawkeyes having a chance to be drafted, so I'm looking forward to the draft this week.
HB: How do you feel about the team after spring practice? Biggest Positive?
SP: I love our team we have a lot of guys ready to prove themselves. Biggest positive is everyone is comfortable with one another & we all have a common goal for the upcoming season.
HB: What are your expectations for 2011? Both personal and team?
SP: Obviously to win the Big Ten title & win the National Championship. My personal goal is to remain consistent in everything I do & be the best leader I can possibly be.
