The Kernels broke a 9-game losing streak yesterday with a 3-1 victory over Kane County. Now, the Kernels begin a four game commuter series at Modern Woodman Park in Davenport versus the Quad Cities River Bandits.
The feeling after the ballgame was a major sense of relief. Even with the 9-game losing streak, the Kernels still are two games over .500 with a 21-19 record.
This is a big series with Quad Cities. The Kernels and River Bandits have identical records at 21-19. Both teams are 0.5 game behind Wisconsin for second place. The Kernels are in a mix with Wisconsin, Beloit, Quad Cities, and Peoria for the wild card spot in the Western Division with one month remaining in the first half of the season.
