Let’s care for our own ahead of other countries

Responding to a May 8 letter by Pat Minor of Iowa City (“U.S. must help Libyan uprising”). She states she doesn't want boots on the ground but was thankful for our military airstrikes. She says what now?
To my way of thinking, that means money. Haven't we wasted enough money around the world as a “moral obligation to do what is right,” as Pat says? Why don't we take that money and use it for New Orleans, Memphis and the drought in Texas that is about to become devastating? What happened to taking care of our country?
Our infrastructure is in terrible shape. Of course all Johnson County liberals want government to give money away even if it adds another trillion or two to our national debt.
Let us start caring for our home first then every one else.
