Exploiting vulnerable isn’t what a hero does

I have heard many, mostly in the media, say Paul Ryan (Wisconsin congressman) is a hero for his proposal to end Medicare as we know it and to (partially) privatize Social Security for those younger than 55.
How far we will have fallen if we allow the most vulnerable in our society to be exploited by a “hero” while that “hero” protects the wealthy?
