The values of used vehicles with high fuel economy ratings, which have surged with the rise in gasoline prices, have finally reached a peak, according to a new report. The publisher of Kelley Blue Book, a leading used car price guide, said prices of fuel-efficient subcompact, hybrid and compact vehicles have risen close to 25 percent during 20 consecutive weeks of gains. Some Corridor used car dealers said it's indeed gotten harder to keep fuel-efficient vehicles on the lot, even though for many buyers it made better financial sense to buy a vehicle that gets fewer miles per gallon and costs less.
