Rollover in Washington County sends woman to hospital
A Washington, Iowa woman was hurt in a rollover crash along Highway 218 early Friday morning.
Rachael Beard, 31, was northbound in a pickup around 12:15 a.m. when she crashed about one-half mile south of 310th Street, according to the Iowa State Patrol. Troopers determined Beard veered onto the shoulder and then over-corrected, causing the pickup to roll.
Beard, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to University Hospitals in Iowa City with unknown injuries.
The pickup came to rest on Highway 218, forcing authorities to shut down the northbound lanes. Both lanes were back open by 2 a.m.
